Alliteration Ice Cream Flavours

In Room 2 we are focusing on using alliteration in our writing and poetry to create different effects.

What is alliteration?
Alliteration is when a series of words in a row (or close to a row) have the same first sound.  For example: "She sells sea-shells down by the sea-shore" or "Peter Piper Picked a Peck of Pickled Peppers".  Aside from tongue twisters, alliteration is also used in poems, song lyrics, and even shop or brand names.

We watched a clip of 'Bleezer's Ice Cream' by Jack Prelutsky and noticed that it has several examples of alliteration.  After picking out these examples, we wrote lists of our favourite foods and came up with other foods and describing words that started with the same letter.  We loved the idea of making up our own ice cream flavours using alliteration so that's what we did!
