Rosie's World Visits Tokomaru School

Rosie and her team visited us today to teach us about dairy farming in New Zealand.  We enjoyed the songs and dances, and everything was FARMTASTIC!

Swimming Lessons at the Lido

As part of our swimming programme this term, Room 1 and 2 went to the Lido for our swimming lessons today.

Swimming and Splashing!

Everyone in Room 1 has been enjoying a swim each afternoon this week.  Starting on Monday we have a swimming coach from the Lido coming along to school to teach us even more skills for in the water!

Mathletics

Thanks to the Tokomaru School Home and School Association, we have access to Mathletics for a couple of terms.  No excuses for letting Maths slip over the holidays!  Play against students from all over the world and have a go at beating your own scores.

1500m Run

Students were encouraged to participate in a 1500m run yesterday.  Several Room 1 students took part and challenged themselves in this event.  Congratulations to all those who participated!

Eli: Before the race I felt nervous.  After the race I felt puffed!
Tyler: I felt happy after the race finished because I came third.
Shayde: I felt a bit sweaty during the race.  I wanted to walk in some parts but I didn't.  I kept running.
Brooklyn: I got puffed out while I was running but I felt good when I finished.
Tyler S: Before the race I was sort of nervous because there are some really fast people.  I felt good that I didn't come last. 
Teigan: I felt happy before we started the race because everyone was racing and at the start I was the first to go.  I cam fourth overall.
Luccas: Before the race I felt so nervous and I wasn't sure when it was time to go.  I concentrated on my breathing as I was running.

Solar Eclipse 2012

The students had the opportunity to look at the solar eclipse that occurred yesterday.  A kind parent brought a welder's mask in so they could look at it.  There were many astounded students when they saw what was happening!

 

Ag Day 2012

What a great day!  Congratulations to all the students who had animals and in the floral and baking sections.  We are looking forward to next year's event already!

Tokomaru School Ag Day 2012

 

This Saturday 10th November is Tokomaru School's annual Ag and Gala Day.  Come along and enjoy the day!  Animal judging starts at 10am.
